Phoenix Ball Shows How Much CPB Cares

No matter how busy life gets, there is always a part of the community that cares about other people and the world we live in. The Mississauga Board of Chinese Professionals & Businesses (CPB) shows how much it cares through the activities it organizes, including its annual fundraising gala, the Phoenix Ball.

This year, CPB will raise money for 7 distinguished organizations in the community:

  • Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto,
  • Hazel McCallion Endowment Fund,
  • Smile China,
  • The Credit Valley Hospital,
  • Trillium Health Centre,
  • University of Toronto at Mississauga, and
  • Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Mississauga.

"Health care, education, caring for our seniors and preserving our heritage are all integral parts of our lives," commented David Maung, Co-Chair of Phoenix Ball 2005. "We are also pleased to extend our fundraising efforts to charities that improve the lives of other people in the world. We are also delighted that Legend Chinese Restaurant will continue to support the Phoenix Ball as our Title Sponsor."

With the generous support of our sponsors, members, guests, volunteers and friends, CPB has contributed over $800,000 to the community in the past few years.

As in the past, CPB's Phoenix Ball Organizing Committee has worked hard to put together an enjoyable evening for its guests, and this year is no exception. The featured entertainment will be performed by The FabFour, Canada's Ultimate Beatles Tribute Act. In addition, guests will be able to dance to live music performed by Larry and The Sunshine Band, and bid on numerous silent auction items.

Details of the Ball are as follows:

Date: Sunday, October 16, 2005
Time: Reception starts at 5:30 pm; Opening Ceremony and Gala Dinner at 7:00 pm
Place: Mississauga Convention Centre, 75 Derry Road West, Mississauga
