"It is the annual groundswell of support that we see from guests, sponsors and volunteers that makes Phoenix Ball such a large success story," said George Wong, Gala Chair for the Ball.

Following from last year's success, cute and cuddly toy panda bears were available for purchase at the Ball, which raised $5,000 for the Hazel McCallion Endowment Fund. Each bear sold also came with the opportunity to win a trip for 2 to Hong Kong and Beijing, eventually won by Paul Ki.

Headline entertainment for the evening was provided by the Xing Dance Theatre's production of "Journey through the Silk Road." After a dramatic acrobatic flag show to open the night, they continued to awe everyone present with rich costumes, enchanting dances, and colourful story-telling.

Guests were also treated to the vocal talents of Don Choi, who serenaded the guests with the same love ballads that made him a fixture of the Hong Kong pop music scene of the 1970s.

The Mississauga Board of Chinese Professionals & Businesses (CPB) would like to extend our thanks to all of our sponsors, guests, and friends for making this year's Phoenix Ball another great success. We would also like to announce the winners of the Phoenix Ball Raffle Draw:
