The Mississauga Board of Chinese Professionals and Businesses (CPB) is hiring two university students as University Summer Student Interns
CPB is a non-profit organization dedicated to linking Chinese professionals and businesses to advance the socio-economic well-being of residents in Mississauga. CPB has raised over $1 million to support various charities and community organizations.
Responsibilities:

Assist in developing work plan for Phoenix Ball 2018
-
Assist in developing and implementing a marketing plan, including social media marketing to promote Phoenix Ball
-
Develop sponsorship packages, VIP letters, and invitations
-
Develop marketing materials outreach both to the mainstream and Chinese communities
-
Assist in promoting sponsorship, silent auction items, and dinner ticket sales
-
Assist in gathering information materials for the program book
-
Manage timelines on task list and prepare weekly interim reports
-
Develop framework for duties and tasks of volunteers; provide volunteer guidance and supervision, as needed
-
Assist in all aspects of accounting & reporting duties

Assist in preparation of materials for press, media and communiqué
-
Assist in the setup and implementation of events; ensure timely preparation of important notices

Perform general administrative duties such as answer phone, open mail, etc.
Supervision plan and mentoring plan:
-
CPB’s Chair, Executive Vice-Chair, and Directors will provide direct supervision

Health and safety practices in the workplace
-
Students will be given a comprehensive orientation and familiarization of CPB’s operating procedures, by-laws, and constitution. CPB’s organizational documents are compliant with the statutes and standards of Ontario. CPB will ensure that students are cognizant of health and safety issues as they pertain to being on site, in the organization’s offices, and while conduct in outreach activities in the community.

Must be university students who will return to university in September 2018

Must work independently with minimal supervision

Must work flexible days and hours

Must take part in events

Good computer skills

Experience in organizing events

Volunteer experience an asset

Languages: Fluent in English, both written and oral, Mandarin and Cantonese an asset
